Wok Chili

Ingredients

1 T flour
½ C cold water
1 T oil
1 chopped med. onion
½ chopped bell pepper
1 lb. ground turkey (or beef)
1 T chili powder (or to taste)

1 16-oz can stewed tomatoes
1 15-oz can red kidney beans
1 or 2 chopped jalapeno peppers (if desired)
1 8-oz can tomato sauce
Salt to taste
Grated cheese

Directions

Mix flour into cold water and stir until smooth.  Set aside. 

Heat oil in wok or large skillet.  Add onion and bell pepper; stir-fry until soft.  Add meat and stir-fry until no longer pink.  Drain excess fat. 

Add chili powder, tomatoes, beans, jalapeno peppers, and tomato sauce.  Bring to a boil.  Lower heat, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes.  Stir in flour-water mixture.  Simmer until sauce thickens.  Season with salt to taste. 

Serve topped with grated cheese.  Makes 6 to 8 servings.
